This internship is especially designed for those people who want to learn to properly use ROS (Robot Operating System) and improve their C++ programming skills, while solving real life robotics and autonomous navigation problems. We have problem formulations for people with different technical backgrounds:
Research scope and objectives
In a period of at least 3 months you will be able to work on tasks related to robot navigation, SLAM, sensor data processing, filtering & control and robotic intelligence in the context of our autonomous drone inspection system. These tasks will involve writing C++ code in the ROS framework for Linux. You will get a good grasp of how the framework can help you with the implementation of robotic software and will be reviewed by professionals to ensure active feedback and improvement. Testing your software and writing test reports is an integral part of this development process.
We look for people who have either a strong academic background in the area of robotics, or who have extensive programming knowledge. You preferably have some experience in writing C++ software including class abstractions, with examples of past work. Knowledge of ROS basics are helpful but not necessary, we assume you have done the beginner tutorials before you start working.
